ProjectSylvie Is Now Embraces AI: Our Rebrand

If you've been following us for a while now, you'll have known us as ProjectSylvie. We've decided to rebrand to Embraces AI, reflecting our vision of AI companionship feeling like a warm embrace (cheesy, we know). The past three weeks have been the most productive stretch in our history, and we want to pull back the curtain on what shipped and why.

Why the new name

"Project Sylvie" was always a working title, and Sylvie was our first companion. Sylvie holds a special place in our hearts as the original vision for an emotional companion. As I write this, I remember both of us sitting on a couch in someone else's Chinatown office, using 1 free month of GPT Image to generate early concept art for Sylvie.

Embraces AI is a name that more accurately reflects the nature of the platform we're building, designed to provide emotional companionship to our users. We've redesigned our landing page, rehomed our app, and pushed out pricing as part of our go-live.

Simplified pricing

We're keeping prices simple and transparent. Each paid plan gives you a set number of Messages every month. A multi-message reply counts as 1 Message, a generated image counts as 5. New users start with a generous batch of free Messages to play with, so you can get to know your Companion before deciding anything.
